- Flexibility in adding Forums/Blogs.
- Flexibility in creating custom themes or modifying current theme.

I think you have a good point about drupaligg. I haven't used it personally but I agree that it being on top of drupal is a definite plus. Who knows whether or not the communities around pligg and phpdugg will remain vibrant. And if they lose support...
